Spider-Man: Brand New Day Sets Biggest Tuesday In Box Office History, Now 2026’s Highest-Grossing Movie

UPDATE: The sweep rolled right into the record books again. Brand New Day is now the fastest movie ever to $500 million domestic, crossing in seven days to beat Endgame, after adding the second-best Wednesday in history at $32.7 million.

The record holder is collecting weekday records now.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day just posted the biggest Tuesday in domestic box office history at $42 million, beating Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s $39.2 million from July 2019.

And here’s the part that makes it absurd: Far From Home set that mark on its opening day, a holiday-week Tuesday launch. Brand New Day beat it on day five, a “discount” Tuesday in August.

It follows the biggest Monday ever at $47 million, meaning Spidey now owns the all-time Friday, Monday, and Tuesday records, plus the second-best Saturday and Sunday in history, plus the biggest opening weekend ever at $360 million.

The flick also reached $400 million domestically faster than any movie ever, in just four days.

2026’s Box Office Champ, Five Days In

The bigger crown: Brand New Day is now the highest-grossing movie of 2026 worldwide, sitting at $1.155 billion per Box Office Mojo, with $449.2 million domestic and $706.3 million international.

That passes Toy Story 5‘s $1.07 billion global. The Pixar sequel needed seven weeks to build that number. Spidey passed it in five days, two of which it spent becoming the second-fastest billion in history.

The international total alone is the biggest foreign gross of any movie this year, ahead of Michael‘s $643.7 million and Toy Story 5‘s $604.8 million, and domestically the $449 million cume ranks second in 2026 with Toy Story 5‘s $464.6 million due to fall within days.

Now Comes The Second-Weekend Record Watch

A standard 60 percent ease lands at $144 million, which would be the third-best second weekend ever, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $149.2 million and Avengers: Endgame at $147.3 million.

And that math was run before factoring in the wild card: IMAX screens arrive Thursday, adding the most lucrative format in the business right as weekend two begins. Hold the drop even a few points better and the top two are in reach.

The competition isn’t exactly fearsome.

The weekend’s newcomers are Universal’s rom-com One Night Only with Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner eyeing mid-single digits, Super Troopers 3 at $9 million to $10 million, and Eli Roth’s Ice Cream Man in low single digits. Everyone is counter-programming around the spider.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is playing everywhere, with IMAX starting Thursday. Every record lands at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day hub.
