Sony Pictures has picked up Daniel Kunka’s (12 Rounds) script for “Agent OX,” which is described as a “story [that] follows a human spy living on an alien planet who must stop an invasion of Earth.”

“Agent OX” will be from Neal Moritz and his production company Original Pictures.

Variety notes the deal was signed Friday – the day when Sony’s latest sci-fi alien invasion thriller Battle: Los Angeles debuted, which Moritz happens to produce.

Battle: Los Angeles topped the box office this weekend with $36 million in sales, so it is a safe guess we should be seeing more of these type of movies.

Seems Sony thinks the same.
