Sony is developing a live-action version of the 1983 animated film, Fire and Ice.
The movie is being directed by Robert Rodriguez, with Deadline stating Rodriguez is doing the film as a homage to his friend, the late animator Frank Frazetta, who was behind the original film with Ralph Bakshi.
The script for the original movie was also written by Marvel Comics’ Gerry Conway and Roy Thomas and is described as:
A small village is destroyed by a surging glacier domain for the evil Ice Lord, Nekron. Sole survivor is a young warrior who vows vengeance, and when Nekron’s subhuman, apelike creatures kidnap a king’s daughter, the warrior becomes determined to track down and free her.
It’s also said Fire and Ice is being developed as a potential franchise for Sony.
