Zack Snyder’s list of DC projects he isn’t watching now covers all of it.
Sitting down with Josh Horowitz on Happy Sad Confused, recorded Monday morning in Toronto just hours after The Last Photograph‘s TIFF premiere, Snyder got the full rundown.
“And no Supergirl, no Lanterns. You’re not watching any of that,” Horowitz said.
“No,” Snyder said.
Superman was the answer he gave The Hollywood Reporter last week.

“It’s Just Got A Lot Of Baggage”
Horowitz brought up the THR interview directly and asked Snyder to clarify: he supports James Gunn and his friends, but hasn’t seen the movie.
“Honestly, it’s just that — look, it’s a personal thing for me,” Snyder said. “I want success for them, and I trust James’s aesthetic and his take. He has a very particular way of making movies and looking at things.”
“It’s just a difficulty,” he continued. “It’s wrapped up in other — it’s just got a lot of baggage.”
That matches what he told Variety this week when asked if he’d seen Superman or Supergirl: “I haven’t seen the movies. It’s a little bit too personal for me. Too soon, I guess you could say. I do like James.”

“It’s Memed All Over My X Feed”
Not that he’s managed to avoid it completely.
“It’s memed all over my X feed,” Snyder said.
“So you’ve seen bits and pieces,” Horowitz said.
“Yeah,” Snyder said. “It’s crazy.”
“Too soon” may have a clock on it.
Per our insiders, James Gunn’s DC contract expires in 2027 with no new extension, and a SnyderVerse return is in play through the Paramount-WBD merger. The Dark Knight Returns is also ready to go.
The same merger would put Snyder’s Sucker Punch director’s cut on Paramount’s desk, and he told Horowitz that one is “definitely on the docket.”
The next DC Snyder watches could be his own.
