It’s learned SEGA is developing movies, TV series and digital platforms based on its popular video game brands.
Variety reports SEGA is moving forward with live-action versions of Altered Beast, Streets of Rage, Shinobi, Rise of Nightmares, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Fighter and Golden Axe.
SEGA has hired former Break Media executive Evan Cholfin to lead those efforts who will be also developing content for Asia and other markets.
With video games selling better than billion dollar movies, it’s no wonder more and more video game companies are getting into the filmmaking business as Electronic Arts released Need For Speed earlier in the year, and Ubisoft is developing Assassins Creed, Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs movies.
