SDCC 2011: Guillermo del Toro talks Pacific Rim and Swamp Thing Movie

[page_title]

The official panel for Guillermo del Toro's sci-fi blockbuster monster movie, Pacific Ring, will be held tomorrow, but the director managed to mention a couple things – in addition to commenting on Swamp Thing.

Regarding Pacific Ring, he said this is the most fun he has had on a film, and said they will be going the digital route for the monsters – which are the "superstars" of the film. He continues, that the digital will be used in a way that it hasn't been previously.

When asked about a potential Swamp Thing movie, del Toro stated he would love to.

"I would love to do it, but that doesn't mean I am going to do it. I try to get involved with things that I love; we develop them, we write them and then it is up to the Studios to make them or not," del Toro said.

He goes on to give an example with Pinocchio, that everything is ready, but the financing.

Guillermo del Toro finishes with the fact that he would rather not do a movie if his vision doesn't line up with what the Studio thinks should happen.

Gotta respect that.
