Ryan Gosling has reportedly been cast as Ghost Rider in the MCU.
The claim comes from insider DanielRPK and dropped Saturday, just hours before Marvel Studios takes the stage for its Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con tonight.
To be clear, this is a rumor: Marvel has not confirmed anything, and the report doesn’t specify which version of Ghost Rider Gosling would play. But the timing is impossible to ignore.
Years In The Making
This one has been simmering forever, and it started with Gosling himself.
Back in 2024 while promoting The Fall Guy, Gosling told Josh Horowitz he wants to play Ghost Rider, and Horowitz personally relayed it to Kevin Feige. Feige’s response at the time: “I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU.”
DanielRPK has been tracking Gosling-to-Marvel ever since, reporting meetings with Feige and talks about an unspecified role, and Gosling himself confirmed the Marvel talks happened while promoting Project Hail Mary. Today’s report upgrades all of that from “talks” to “cast.”
Why Tonight Matters
Here’s where it gets interesting: the Avengers: Doomsday plot leak features Ghost Rider, a reveal that set Marvel fans on fire when it surfaced. Marvel takes over Hall H tonight from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT with new Doomsday footage expected and social media claiming 70-plus actors in the building.
If Marvel wanted a showstopper moment to match RDJ’s Doctor Doom reveal from 2024, Ryan Gosling walking out with a flaming skull behind him would do it.
Gosling landing the role would also come at the expense of the longtime fan-favorite pick: Norman Reedus, who has openly campaigned for Ghost Rider for years.
Gosling Would Own Both Franchises
The kicker: Gosling is already fronting Star Wars: Starfighter, and as Cosmic Book News exclusively reported from the Comic-Con floor, he is heavily involved with that movie in a Ryan Reynolds-with-Deadpool way. Add Ghost Rider and Gosling would be holding down lead roles in both Star Wars and Marvel at the same time, which no actor has ever done.
