Seth Rogen has taken to Twitter to release the first poster for the upcoming AMC Preacher TV series, which is based on the DC Comics Vertigo comic book.

Rogen tweeted the poster adding: “Preacher is coming to AMC!!! May 2016! @evandgoldberg @SamCatlin123! The beginning is nigh!!!”

Update: Rogen has apparently deleted the premiere date tweet and tweeted out the following, which makes no mention of May 2016.

Preacher is based on the Garth Ennis DC Comics Vertigo comic book of the same name that sees Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) as a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), the three embark on a journey to literally find God.

Preacher also stars Ian Colletti as Arseface, Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla, W. Earl Brown as Hugo Root, Lucy Griffiths as Emily, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck, Jamie Anne Allman as Betsy Schneck and Ricky Mabe as Miles Person.
