South Park Just Proved Paramount Warner Bros. Won’t Be Trump TV

Trump TV is real now, and it is not at Paramount.

The White House launched “Trump TV: The Essentials Station” this week, a 24/7 YouTube stream of the administration’s biggest moments.

White House deputy assistant Kaelan Dorr called it “a livestream of the Administration’s greatest hits, unfiltered.”

The launch promo strings together famous TV characters watching TV, from Seinfeld and SpongeBob to The Dark Knight. Yes, there is a Warner Bros. Batman movie in the Trump TV promo.

Which brings us to the other Trump TV, the one critics keep predicting.

The Fear About Paramount Warner Bros.

Opponents of the $111 billion merger have warned for months that David Ellison’s Paramount buying Warner Bros. Discovery creates a Trump-friendly giant running CNN, HBO, CBS and DC.

Tatiana Maslany joined Mark Ruffalo against the deal, saying “I’ve heard of shows being cancelled” and warning about a conservative ideology filter.

Here is what that fear runs into: Paramount already owns the show that spares nobody, and it just wrote that show its biggest check ever.

South Park South America

Paramount Pays For The Jokes

Paramount handed Trey Parker and Matt Stone $1.5 billion for five more years of South Park.

The show took the money and renamed itself South America over Trump’s Gulf of America order, stamping “A Skydance Capitulation” across its parent company’s own logo.

Paramount’s response was to print the joke in its own press releases, then send out another one this week boasting the premiere drew 4.2 million viewers and won the week on cable outside of sports.

This is the same show that has spent 29 years torching both parties, every religion, all of Hollywood, and every company that ever sponsored it.

A company building a propaganda network does not pay $1.5 billion for that, put the punchline on its own key art, and celebrate the ratings.

Ellison pays for hits. The number is the point.

Tom Cruise Days Of Thunder

The Plan Is Hits, Not Politics

CBN’s Paramount sources have described the post-merger plan the same way for months: “Global IPs and A-Listers. Big swings, big revivals, big announcements.”

And “Make Movies Fun Again.”

Thirty movies a year. Star Trek, Batman, Transformers, G.I. Joe, pitches flying from every direction.

None of that is a political project. It is a company trying to give fans what they want and get paid for it.

The merger is set to close by early October. The company critics call the next Trump TV just spent the week celebrating a cartoon that makes fun of everybody, its own boss included.

And the actual Trump TV reached for a Warner Bros. movie to sell itself. Everybody wants the hits.
