Access Hollywood caught up with Hugh Jackman – and the actor mentioned getting into shape for Wolverine "2."
Currently, Jackman is on a 6000 calories/day diet and training regimen as recommended by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
The actor needs to gain 30 lbs and states he has 20 more to go – he is at the 10lb. mark right now.
Wolverine "2" director Darren Aronofsky requested that Jackman put on the weight as the Wolverine in the comics is much shorter and bulkier (Jackman is 6'2'').
This new Wolverine is actually not a sequel and is a stand alone where Wolverine heads on over to Japan based on the 1982 Wolverine comic book mini series, from legendary comic scribe Chris Claremont and Frank Miller – who also penned 300 and Sin City.
"The Wolverine" is due out sometime in 2012.
