UPDATE: The Beyonder guess has a rival, with fans coalescing around Franklin Richards after spotting a Pedro Pascal resemblance and Jupe logging Fantastic Four: First Steps three times on Letterboxd.
Noah Jupe is the first new name to board Avengers: Secret Wars, with Deadline reporting the A Quiet Place and Hamnet star has been cast in a secret role in the Multiverse Saga finale.
Jupe also recently starred alongside Hugh Jackman in The Death of Robin Hood.
Per the report, Jupe’s mystery character is expected to play a key role in the story. Marvel had no comment.
Production, however, is already underway. CBN reported last month that Secret Wars started filming at Pinewood Studios in August before the entire crew was sent home for a five-week hiatus, with production scheduled to resume at the end of September.
Interestingly enough, that timing also lines up with reports of X-Men filming at Pinewood at the end of the summer.
The pause already leaves Marvel with under a year of post-production once filming wraps, so Jupe is joining a production with little runway before its December 17, 2027 release.
The casting also comes with Avengers: Doomsday still three and a half months away. The first half of the Russo brothers’ two-parter opens December 18, 2026, meaning Marvel is already locking in major Secret Wars pieces before audiences have even seen Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in action.
Anthony and Joe Russo direct both films, with Kevin Feige producing.
Is Noah Jupe playing the Beyonder?
Marvel keeping the role under wraps immediately kicked off the guessing game, and the theory gaining the most traction is that Jupe is playing the Beyonder — the godlike being at the center of the original Secret Wars.
In Jim Shooter and Mike Zeck’s original 1984 Secret Wars, the Beyonder is the omnipotent force who abducts Marvel’s heroes and villains and drops them onto Battleworld to fight for his own curiosity.
He then takes human form and walks the Earth in 1985’s Secret Wars II.
Jonathan Hickman’s 2015 Secret Wars takes the concept in another direction. There, the Beyonders are a race of multiverse-destroying cosmic beings whose power Doctor Doom steals before remaking reality and ruling Battleworld as God Emperor Doom.
That’s where the Jupe theory gets interesting.
If Downey’s Doom is headed down the Hickman road, the story needs the beings whose power he takes. An unnamed character reportedly described as a key piece of Secret Wars could certainly fit somewhere in that equation.
Jupe being 21 also works with another piece of comic history. The original Beyonder was later described as a “child unit” of the Beyonder race — young, virtually all-powerful, and dangerous in part because he doesn’t fully understand what he is.
Worth stressing: that’s all fan speculation for now. Marvel hasn’t confirmed Jupe is playing the Beyonder or revealed anything about his character.
Other guesses making the rounds include an aged-up Franklin Richards, Reed and Sue’s reality-warping son; Molecule Man, the human battery tied to the Beyonders and central to Doom’s plan in Hickman’s story; and even a grown-up version of the baby glimpsed in the Doomsday trailer.
Jupe could reunite with Sadie Sink in the MCU
There’s also a fun connection for fans: Jupe spent the summer playing Romeo opposite Sadie Sink’s Juliet on the West End, earning rave reviews.
Sink then made her MCU debut as Jean Grey in July’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of Jake Schreier’s X-Men movie, meaning Secret Wars could reunite the stage co-stars on a much bigger battlefield.
Jupe, 21, broke out in Wonder and the A Quiet Place films, co-starred in the Oscar-winning Hamnet, and appeared opposite Tom Hiddleston in this year’s second season of The Night Manager.

Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars follows December 17, 2027.
