Nicolas Cage has spoken on Amazon canceling Spider-Noir.
He’s at peace with it.
“For me, one season is perfect,” Cage said in a statement to Deadline, adding that he said everything he wanted to say with his dangerous, pop-art take on Spider-Man.
He signed off with three words: “Onwards, upwards, inwards.”

He Told Us This Was Coming
Cage’s reaction lines up with what he said back in June, when he told Variety he didn’t know if Season 2 would happen and that the team accomplished what it set out to do.
We covered those comments in our Spider-Noir Season 2 breakdown.
The season backs him up. All eight episodes told a mostly complete story, with the finale leaving only a few loose threads.
Cage built the performance out of 1930s and ’40s cinema, as he studied the fast delivery of Howard Hawks pictures and the mannerisms of Double Indemnity, then collided all of it with Stan Lee’s creation. He compared the result to a Roy Lichtenstein painting.
It worked. The series sits at 92% with critics and 90% with fans, and it just won five Emmys days after getting canceled.
As for why Amazon pulled the plug, Deadline points to the show’s high price tag against viewership that was solid but not massive. Amazon itself still hasn’t given a reason.

Cage Isn’t Done With Amazon
The cancellation doesn’t end the Cage-Prime Video relationship.
Up next is Madden, the Prime Video movie starring Cage as legendary coach and broadcaster John Madden. It premieres November 18.
Cage also made it clear he’s sticking with streaming, noting he embraced it years before it was cool, back when the media treated straight-to-streaming movies as something to be ashamed of.
So Cage got to say what he wanted to say, and he’s moving on.
Fans aren’t. They’re flooding the show’s own Emmy victory post demanding Season 2.
