Now these action figures look pretty darn good.

Mattel, through the USA Today, revealed their new line of Star Wars “The Black Series” action figures, and we get a peek at Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing fighter uniform.

The new toys are bigger in scale and have more articulation; being bumped up from their classic 3¾ inches to a full 6, and will also focus on the original trilogy.

8 figures are to be released this year for $19.99 each with the first wave in August featuring Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Darth Maul and an Imperial Sandtrooper.

Part of the idea behind it is to get the new toys ready for Star Wars Episode VII as well as give fans and collectors somewhere new to start.

“We realize folks want their iconic characters delivered up in a new way,” Derryl DePriest, Hasbro vice president of boys marketing said. “Our focus here is the adult collector, the dad. We know they have their own generation of youngsters they like to share the adventure with. It can be something for dad, and the 3¾ world can be something for the kids to share.”
