The plot for The New Simpsons Movie may have leaked.
Scooper Daniel Richtman reports the sequel pits the Simpsons against themselves.
“In the sequel movie, The Simpsons will have to fight their future selves from 20 years in the future!”
Disney and 20th Century Studios have not confirmed any plot details, so consider this one a rumor for now.

The Simpsons vs. The Future Could Be The Title
Richtman adds the title isn’t locked in either, with other options said to be under consideration, including The Simpsons vs. The Future.
That would be a change, as 20th Century Studios just revealed The New Simpsons Movie title at D23 last month, with a poster that recreates the famous Homer hedge meme.
The event also screened an animatic of Homer trying to catch a foul ball at a Springfield Isotopes game.
Disney announced the sequel a year ago with a donut teaser poster and the tagline “Homer’s coming back for seconds,” taking over a Marvel release date in the process.
The movie has since moved from July 23, 2027 to September 3, 2027.

Earlier this month, Richtman also leaked the plot of Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist: Martyrs, which likewise checked out, as Universal asked us to take it down.
The first Simpsons Movie hit theaters in July 2007 and grossed $536 million worldwide.
