[[wysiwyg_imageupload:911:]]TBS has green lit a new reality show, King of the Nerds, from the king nerds themselves, Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong.
Of course, Carradine played Louis Skolnik, and Armstrong was the cool Dudley “Booger” Dawson in the 1984 classic, and one of my all time favorite movies, Revenge of the Nerds.
The competition-based show will consist of eight episodes featuring challenges that will test the competitors intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop-culture knowledge.
Initially starting off in team competition, the competitors will continue on in individual challenges until the king nerd is crowned.
Look for King of the Nerds some time on TBS in 2013.
Pop Culture TV shows seem to be getting rather popular as Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men recently premiered on AMC. There is also the sit-coms The Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock, which have featured comic book elements, as well as The Colbert Report. Then there is the granddaddy of them all with Robert Kirkman’s huge show on AMC, The Walking Dead.
Seems nerds are cool! Just ask Doctor Who!
