[[wysiwyg_imageupload:8965:]]DC Comics announced at the recent reseller show that they will be extending their “Zero Year” event from Batman out to a bunch of new titles.
The full list can be seen below, which includes Batgirl.
However, apparently the issue(s) will not be written by Gail Simone.
So since you’re not writing the Zero Year tie in, does that mean that the tie ins were editorial’s decision and not the creators?
GS: I don’t know how much of this stuff has been announced yet, so I can’t talk about it much at this point. I had what I thought was a cool story, but it won’t be used.
GS: I don’t know what the replacement story will be or who is writing it, that’s all handled by editorial.
A fan also brought it up to Dan DiDio who responded as follows:
This decision wasn’t made by the guy that tried to fire Gail Simone, was it?
Cause I wouldn’t trust him to pick the color of the balloons at an eight-year-old’s birthday party.
DD: This is a November event and none of the creative have been announced.
Readers will probably recall that Gail Simone was let go from DC Comics and Batgirl, but due to the overwhelming support from the industry and readers, DC relented and brought her back, much to their benefit as Batgirl is a consistent seller.
