Yesterday saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol debut on just 425 screens and bring in a whopping $1.1 million, according to Deadline.
Of course the 6 minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises attached to the 70mm IMAX premiere of MI most certainly helped out.
To compare numbers, the previous MI did $1.1 million of midnight business on over 2,000 screens.
Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game Of Shadows had a midnight opening as well, and brought in $1.25 million from 1,650 shows.
I’m sure the IMAX prologue for The Dark Knight Rises looks just a tad bit better than the one that was leaked on the net. The prologue will also get a regular Digital release in the Summer of 2012.
