For a second time it’s mentioned that Fox Studios is looking to bridge their X-Men and Fantastic Four properties.
A previous report mentioned that Fox was looking at developing an X-Men Vs. Fantastic Four shared movie universe; however, the article was corrected stating it was all based on speculation and erroneous quotes.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter is stating similar in their own report which is about the year of shared movie universes for 2014. They quote a previous interview they did with Simon Kinberg, who has recently been announced to be developing Marvel-style movies for Fox with their X-Men and Fantastic Four properties.
Kinberg didn’t explicitly state he is creating an X-Men and Fantastic Four movie shared universe, so the report could be further speculation from THR. Of course it’s certainly possible Kinberg could be indeed briding the gap between the X-Men and Fantastic Four with the success of Disney’s Avengers being a proven winner.
The same report also mentions that Universal Studios might not have any superheroes in its library, but we know that’s not the case as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed Universal has Namor.
Josh Trank is directing the Fantastic Four movie which has a June 19th, 2015 release.
