Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige has been named the Motion Picture Showman of the Year by the ICG Publicists Guild.
Kevin Feige was behind the likes of the blockbuster The Avengers movie as well as the previous and upcoming Marvel Studios movies, and executive producer on the Amazing Spider-Man.
The Motion Picture Showmanship Award honors a person, persons or company whose creative accomplishments in the formulation, development, production or presentation of motion picture projects best represent that special spirit traditionally defined as showmanship.
Past winners include James Cameron, head of the new Star Wars movies for Disney, Kathleen Kennedy, and husband, producer Frank Marshall, Tom Hanks, and Clint Eastwood.
The ICG Publicists Awards, begun in 1964, honor excellence in publicity and promotion for motion pictures and television programs and spotlight the work of union publicists. Recipients are selected in several different categories and are voted on by their peers in Local 600. No other event celebrates the importance of publicists’ contribution to the entertainment industry.
