The Hood has also surfaced in the datamined files for Marvel Rivals Season 9, classified as a Vanguard ahead of the The Mystery of Thebes season’s July 10, 2026 launch.
As we reported, Jubilee leaked as a Strategist in the same batch of files, and it’s The Hood who might be the more interesting pick of the two.
From Ironheart Villain To Marvel Rivals Vanguard
For anyone who skipped the comics, Parker Robbins is the guy Anthony Ramos played in Ironheart, the small-time hustler whose cloak turned out to be a loan from Mephisto himself.
That Disney+ turn gave The Hood more mainstream recognition than he’s had in two decades, and NetEase appears to be cashing in on it.
His comic pedigree runs deeper. Created by Brian K. Vaughan and Kyle Hotz in 2002, Robbins stole a demonic cloak tied to Dormammu and climbed from petty thief to New York’s supervillain crime boss, running a syndicate that went toe to toe with the New Avengers.
The Hood’s Leaked Kit Is Built Around Clones
Per the datamined files, The Hood slots into the Vanguard role with a kit centered on clone mechanics, with his magical cape feeding the survivability side of the classification. On paper that makes him one of the more disorienting tanks to play against.
Marvel Rivals already has a clone fantasy in Loki, but that lives in the Strategist role. The Hood would move it to the frontline, which is a different problem entirely when you’re trying to figure out which tank is real.
The usual leak caveats apply. Cooldowns, ultimate details, and team-up interactions remain unknown until NetEase makes it official.
A Street Crime Boss Against Apocalypse
The story details are the fun part. The leaked files tie The Hood directly into the seasonal narrative as a major opponent of Apocalypse himself.
A guy with a stolen cloak and a gun squaring up against an immortal mutant warlord sounds like a mismatch, but punching above his weight class is the character’s entire history.

When Does The Hood Release In Marvel Rivals?
One of the two leaked heroes launches day one on July 10 as the game’s 52nd playable character, with the other expected at the Season 9.5 mid-season update roughly four weeks later. Which hero drops first has not been confirmed.
If The Hood is the 9.5 hero, expect his official kit breakdown in early August.
Either way, NetEase’s reveal window is now, and with X-Men ’97 Season 2’s Rise of Apocalypse airing weekly on Disney+, Marvel is clearly all-in on an Apocalypse summer. We’ll update as it becomes official.
