Moments ago at the WonderCon, during the My Cup O’ Joe Panel, it was announced that the Hulk would be smashing those darn and dirty vampires that have been sucking the life out of the X-Men books, as of late.
This September will see writer Victor Gischler and artist Ryan Stegman on Fear Itself: Hulk vs. Dracula, a limited series that sees the Hulk take on the Vampire nation.
Per the image, this is not your regular Joe – it’s the Hulk deemed “worthy!”
The Hulk goes on a rampage – with all the world in turmoil and the heroes too busy – it’s up to Dracula and his vampire nation to stop the rampaging monster.
Wait, just who are the monsters?
“Matt Fraction and the whole FEAR ITSELF team teed us up perfectly, [so Hulk] was less tricky,” said Gischler to Marvel.com. “Vamps in this particular situation are hovering in a gray area. Such powerful creatures walking that line can be a tricky thing. You’re not going to see Dracula jump up and yell ‘We’ve got to save the citizens!’ He’s just not built that way.”
Editor Jake Thomas added, “If you’re reading FEAR ITSELF, you’re definitely going to want to check this out as it’s certainly a big part of that story, but it also stands on its own in a way that if you’re a Hulk fan, a vampire fan, or even just a fan of big, awesome action and smart, clever characters seriously having their mettle tested, you are going to love this book.”
Well, Jake, I’m a Hulk fan — and I want to see the Hulk send those bloodsuckers back to their graves!
Fear Itself: Hulk vs. Dracula hits in September.
