The Mandalorian Was Star Wars’ Most-Streamed Show Of 2026 With Zero New Episodes

The most-watched Star Wars series on Disney+ in 2026 has not aired a new episode since April 2023.

Per new Luminate data covering U.S. streaming for the first half of 2026, The Mandalorian racked up 2.4 billion minutes from January through June.

That is third among all Disney+ originals, behind only Daredevil: Born Again (3.6 billion across two seasons) and Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2.6 billion).

Luminate’s read is that the show “benefited from catch-up viewing even as its big-screen adaptation sputtered at the box office.”

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, the only new Star Wars series on the chart, did 1.1 billion minutes. Andor did 918 million on catalog viewing a year after its final season. The Book of Boba Fett (358 million) and The Bad Batch (268 million) round out the Star Wars presence.

Not on the list at all: The Acolyte, which could not out-stream The Bad Batch despite the FlixPatrol comeback chatter earlier this year.

Also missing: Obi-Wan Kenobi, which set the Disney+ premiere record in 2022 and now cannot crack 268 million minutes in six months, plus Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka, the only live-action series Lucasfilm has left on the schedule.

Three Old Seasons In The Top 10

Season by season, The Mandalorian holds three of the ten spots on Luminate’s Disney+ originals chart for the half: Season 1 at 887.9 million minutes, Season 3 at 790.2 million, and Season 2 at 728 million.

Those seasons are seven, three and six years old.

Each one out-streamed every new Star Wars episode Disney+ released this year, with the lone exception of Maul.

That is the catalog story Luminate flagged in its Q1 report: Disney+ runs on its library. For Star Wars, the library is one show.

Mandalorian Grogu Hutts 1

2.4 Billion Minutes Of Homework, Then Nobody Showed Up

The catch-up viewing had an obvious purpose. The Mandalorian and Grogu hit theaters May 22, and a lot of people apparently rewatched the series to get ready.

Then they did not go.

The movie closed at $345.2 million worldwide, the lowest-grossing live-action Star Wars film ever, and Disney admitted on its earnings call that it missed expectations before pivoting to toy sales and theme park rides.

So the show was popular enough to pull 2.4 billion minutes of rewatching in six months, and the movie built on top of it could not clear Solo.

The audience decided Mando is something they watch at home for no extra charge, not something they pay to see.

Luminate, for what it is worth, still treats The Mandalorian as the efficiency benchmark. Season 3’s cost-per-minute-streamed ratio of 0.018 is the number the firm used to show why Wonder Man was canceled.

Star Wars’ best Disney+ performer is the one that stopped making episodes.

What Lucasfilm Has Left

For scale: back in December 2020, the Season 2 finale week pulled 1.336 billion minutes on Nielsen in a single week.

In the first half of 2026, that entire season did 728 million in six months on Luminate’s count.

Different measurement, same direction, and it matches the bigger picture that Star Wars has lost 85 percent of its audience.

This is the rest phase of the Star Wars reset we have been tracking: one live-action series left, a slate past 2027 that is bare on purpose, and a library doing the work the new shows cannot.

Star Wars: Starfighter opens May 28, 2027, and its box office bar already sits below Mando and Grogu.

Until then, Star Wars on Disney+ is a 2019 show people rewatch before a movie they then skip.
