We just received word that Star Wars Episode VII has found its writer with Michael Arndt in addition to the news that the movie is being shopped around to high-profile directors such as Brad Bird, Steven Spielberg and Star Trek‘s J.J. Abrams.

Well, we can at least cross one high-profile name off the list of potential candidates to direct Star Wars as new Superman director Zack Snyder has stated he is not interested.

“I don’t think I’d be interested in [directing it],” Snyder said, reports the LA Times Hero Complex. “I’m a huge ‘Star Wars’ fanatic. I just think doing [episodes] seven, eight and nine is just a slippery slope. It’s a whole other mythological experiment I’m excited to see, but it’s a lot of effort.”

With Snyder declining Star Wars, we are hoping that means the director will be sticking with the Warner Bros. super hero movies with “Man of Steel 2” as well as some sort of involvement with the Justice League movie.

Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel soars into theaters June 14, 2013 in 3D.
