Man Of Steel (2013): First Look at Henry Cavill as Superman On Set

We have our first “live” look at Henry Cavill in the new Superman suit for the new Man Of Steel, from the Plano, Illinois set.

Update: Now take a look at a front shot at Cavill, and find out why it’s so darn hard to get a good shot of the new Superman!

We see there is no Shield on the back of the cape.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, as the previous movie, Superman Returns, had no “S” shield, as well.

In addition, Cavill’s cape is longer and touches the ground, while Brandon Routh’s and Christopher Reeve’s were much shorter – falling about halfway between the knees and ankles.

The longer cape gives the new Superman a more majestic look, imo, which the first official pic of Cavill as Big Blue showed off, too.
