Lilo & Stitch 2 is adding a brand new lead character to go along with Lilo and Stitch.
Scooper Daniel Richtman reveals on his Patreon that Disney’s live-action sequel is casting a new character named Nellie.
Richtman also reveals the movie films in Oahu, Hawaii through December 17, 2026.

Nellie Befriends Lilo And Stitch
According to the casting call, Nellie is a lead role, with production looking at girls 9 to 10 years old for the part.
The character is described as “a fast-talking young girl who has just moved to Hawaii with her parents from a big city.”
“Nellie is bright-eyed, inquisitive, effortlessly popular and naturally cool,” continues the casting call. “Despite being very different from her, Nellie takes fast to befriending Lilo, is eager to learn more about her new home, and of course Experiment 626.”
So Lilo is getting a new best friend in the sequel, and Nellie is also getting introduced to Stitch.

Follows One Of 2025’s Biggest Movies
The 2025 remake finished with $1.038 billion worldwide on a $100 million budget, with $423.7 million coming from the domestic box office and $614.2 million from overseas.
It opened to $146 million, the biggest Memorial Day weekend debut ever.
Disney teased the sequel at D23 back in August, where Maia Kealoha and Sydney Agudong were revealed to be returning as Lilo and Nani.
Chris Sanders, who co-created the original animated movie and voices Stitch, directs from his own script. The sequel tells a brand-new story rather than adapting Stitch Has a Glitch.
Lilo & Stitch 2 opens in theaters on May 26, 2028, once again over Memorial Day weekend.
Richtman Has Been On A Roll
The scooper nailed the plot leaks for Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist: Martyrs, revealing Scarlett Johansson faces John Leguizamo’s satanic serial killer.
Richtman was also first to say Jon Watts is directing the first movie in Simon Kinberg’s new Star Wars trilogy, which Deadline confirmed the same day.
