Following the Captain America 3 Spider-Man leak, new internal documents from Sony have hit the net as a result of a hack revealing plans for a Men In Black and 22 Jump Street crossover.

E-mails show that Jump Street stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are involved, with Sony requesting Steven Spielberg’s involvement as well.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Sony is eager to get the project underway as they have agreed to greenlight the crossover without a script, but on the basis of the concept alone.

It’s reported Sony would like the Men In Black/22 Jump Street crossover for a 2016 or 2017 release, which will see Hill and Tatum play as cops interacting with the sci-fi universe of Men In Black.

Further details mention the crossover will be produced by Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who may also direct it. In addition, it’s said Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones would not be included in the movie, at least in prominent roles.

One e-mail from the head of Sony movies, Amy Pascal, read: “…jump street merging with mib i think that’s clean and rad and powerful.”

In another e-mail, Hannah Minghella, president of production for Sony’s Columbia Pictures label, stated: “We don’t have a script yet so we’ll be greenlighting the movie off the concept and the talent involved.”

And in a letter to Spielberg from Sony Pictures president of worldwide business affairs and operations Andrew Gumpert said: “We didn’t do as well as we had hoped for on the last MIB film, but that hasn’t caused us to lose faith in the franchise. In reality, the exact opposite has occurred where we all have an opportunity to take an interim step on the way to hopefully forging ahead again in the pure-play MIB universe.”
