Warner Bros. recently announced an Aquaman movie set for a 2018 release date starring Jason Momoa.
Now as a result of the Sony hacks by the group calling themselves the “Guardians of Peace,” a possible director has been named for Aquaman.
Michael De Luca, co-president of production for Columbia Pictures, has named Jeff Nichols as director of Aquaman (via Daily Beast).
Nichols is known for directing Mud, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon. Nichols’ most recent movie is Midnight Special, which comes out in 2015, starring Joel Edgerton, Adam Driver, Kirsten Dunst, Michael Shannon and Sam Shepard.
A recent QnA with Momoa saw Jason Momoa describe Aquaman as “bad ass.” Momoa was also questioned on his choice of director, with Momoa responding Zack Snyder (of course Momoa couldn’t say the actual director – if it is Nichols – as it hasn’t been officially announced).
