The wait finally has an end in sight. Kingdom Hearts 4 launches in late 2027, revealed Friday night during the same D23 Entertainment Showcase that delivered the Kingdom Hearts anime series announcement.
The release window came alongside confirmation that the world of Pixar’s Coco is coming to the game, revealed with a new trailer featuring Coco fan favorite Héctor.
Pixar made it official on social media moments later, announcing the world of Coco arrives in Kingdom Hearts 4 when the game launches in late 2027, while The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley confirmed the ship date as well.

The Long Road To Kingdom Hearts 4
Square Enix first announced the game back in April 2022 during the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebration, showing Sora waking up in the realistic world of Quadratum before going dark for four years.
A new trailer finally surfaced earlier this summer, and store listings briefly pointed to a 2027 release before those dates got scrubbed. Now it’s official.
Wishlists are now live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC. Kingdom Hearts veteran Tai Yasue co-directs, with Haley Joel Osment and David Gallagher back as Sora and Riku.
Worth noting: scooper Daniel Richtman called this one Friday morning, telling fans a Kingdom Hearts announcement was coming at D23 and floating the Coco world specifically.
