We get a further update on the Guardians of the Galaxy movie from Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige in the latest issue of Empire Magazine.

Feige lets it be known who the main villain will be as well as hints at that Thanos will be featured more than a cameo.

“Ronan The Accuser is very much the main bad guy. And Thanos is lurking above it all,” Feige told Empire. “You will learn more about Thanos in Guardians, for sure. Certainly you’ll get more than the one turn around and smirk. You’ll get much more than that!”

Cosmic Book News broke the story of the involvement of Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy back in September of last year, which also included news the Mad Titan is to be featured in The Avengers 2.

Ronan The Accuser is being played by Lee Pace, who was actually up for the role of Star-Lord, with director James Gunn bringing the actor back to play the part of the bad guy. Previously released details about Ronan in the movie revealed he is an admiral of Thanos.

In the same article, Feige also stated Guardians of the Galaxy takes place within the same time frame as the other Marvel Studios movies, perhaps squashing the rumor that the movie is to be set in the future.

“It’s not exactly revealed what year or month it is in relation to the other Phase Two films. But yes, it’s the same time,” Feige offered.

Feige also previously gave a run down on all the main characters from the movie.

Check out Lee Pace and Karen Gillan from Comic-Con:

The “Guardians of the Galaxy movie” has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsu as Korath the Pursuer, with John C.
