Miles Morales in live action is a matter of when, not if, straight from the top.
Speaking with Chinese media in Shanghai (via a translated roundtable circulating on Weibo), Kevin Feige addressed the Miles question head-on.
Per the translation, Marvel undoubtedly has plans for a live-action Miles Morales.
“I think live-action Spider-Man movies have this destiny: to add Miles at some point after the Spider-Verse series is completed,” he said.
After Spider-Verse Wraps
Feige pointed back to the Electro line in No Way Home about there having to be another Spider-Man out there, saying audiences worldwide lit up because they knew what it hinted at.
The timing, per Feige, is tied to animation: with Beyond the Spider-Verse arriving next year to close Sony’s trilogy, he described it as the live-action films’ destiny to bring in Miles at some point after that series concludes.
Spider-Man Movies Into The 2030s
Feige also made clear Peter Parker isn’t going anywhere.
He said producing partner Amy Pascal is already at work, and that the two have gone deep on what the next two, three, four, even five Spider-Man movies could be, regardless of how the Sony deals are structured.
The timing of the comments is no accident: Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens July 31, ten days out, carrying the biggest trailer launch in history and the second-best presales of the post-pandemic era.
Spider-Man is the franchise even Avengers: Doomsday can’t out-number right now, and Marvel is planning it in half-decade increments.
