Is Katee Sackhoff Ms. Marvel? In Talks With Marvel Studios For Something

Back in May, Katee Sackoff responded with a “Hell, Yes!” when asked if she would be interested in playing Ms. Marvel.

Then recently, Marvel Studios producer Louis D’Esposito told ComingSoon that they are looking for a lead female superhero mentioning Black Widow, Pepper Potts, Peggy Carter “or Captain Marvel, you know?” D’Esposito went on to state to add anything new into the mix is difficult, and that they are concentrating on the films that are upcoming, but didn’t sound like it was ruled out completely.

Now it’s learned that Katee Sackhoff is actually in talks with Marvel Studios – for something – as the character details are not mentioned.

Sackhoff appeared on a recent Schmoes Know podcast (33-minute mark) letting it become known:

There’s been some stuff going on. There’s been a lot of checking of availability. There’s been a lot of questions about the first quarter of next year.

The hosts of the podcasts bring up the fact that Vin Diesel is playing Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, with Sackhoff adding Diesel is in talks for another franchise with them as well, with the hosts questioning if Vin Diesel could have had anything to do with Sackhoff getting a meeting with Marvel.

Katee Sackhoff doesn’t respond to that line of questioning, but if you follow the comic books, Ms. Marvel could play well into Guardians of the Galaxy or even The Avengers 2.

Regarding Vin Diesel, the actor recently let it be known that the “franchise” in question is for Marvel Studios’ Phase 3 plans which would see a “merging of brands” as well as for the year 2016.

Update: Katee Sackhoff denies being in talks with Marvel.

Katee Sackhoff currently stars in “Riddick” along with Vin Diesel, and “Oculus” with “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Karen Gillan which debuts at the Toronto Film Festival.
