Yesterday saw Marvel Studios release a first look at The Avengers 2.

The images came from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, and now more details from the full article have been made available.

Warning: The following contains major The Avengers 2 spoilers.

It’s stated that Ultron’s origins essentially remain the same as in the Marvel comics, except Ultron in The Avengers 2 is created by Tony Stark “as the ultimate drone, a way for Iron Man to abdicate his duties and offload them onto a fully mechanized protector.”

It’s staated: “Ultron will be an all-seeing all-knowing Captain of the Iron Legion, a planetary force of robot beat cops that resemble blue-and-white versions of the Iron Man suit, but have no human core.”

Stark programs Ultron with elements of his own personality, which is said to be the “#1” mistake.

Whedon offered: “Ultron sees the big picture, and he goes ‘Okay, we need radical change, which will be violent and appalling, in order to make everything better’; he’s not just going ‘Muhaha, soon I’ll rule!’ He’s on a mission. He wants to save us!”

It’s stated that the Iron Legion first attacks when the Avengers are celebrating, as early on in the movie they reunited, kicked all kinds of butt, and free the twins, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. This is when Ultron lets his plans be known: that he is going to bring peace to the planet by eradicating all the humans.

Battle details include:

Tony Stark dangles 50 ft in the air with a member of the Iron Legion hovering over him. Stark has no armor; so he uses a fork and jams it in the robot’s neck.

It’s said the Avengers make short work of the Iron Legion, but Ultron is just getting started.

Ultron tells them: “I know you’re ‘good people.’ I know you mean well… But you just didn’t think it through… There is only one path to peace…your extermination.”

It’s stated that both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are on “Team Ultron,” which makes it hard for the other heroes because they have to deal with new powers they are not used to.

The twins are orphans and castoffs that harbor a secret grudge against the Avengers.

The Vision is also member of “Team Ultron,” and created by Ultron as well, who also has the power to create “life.”

Whedon confirms The Vision is born from JARVIS (voiced and played by Paul Bettany).

“The Avengers: Age Of Ultron” hits May 1, 2015 directed by Joss Whedon starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as Vision, with James Spader as Ultron.
