Josh Brolin was a name being thrown around for the new Batman, and now the actor seems to state as much, as well as that he is all for Ben Affleck as the new Dark Knight.
MTV caught up with Josh Brolin at the recent Toronto Film Festival where the actor states he doesn’t actually know how close he got to becoming the new Batman, and that he didn’t think about it all that much as he didn’t even come up with his own take on the character.
Brolin continues with mention about Ben Affleck as Batman, and that he is angry for him – not at him – and really curious about the movie, as well as questioning how the fans can bring up a movie (Daredevil) that Affleck did ten or fifteen years ago.
“I’m really curious to see what he does and Zack [Snyder] does. I’ll see the movie. I’ll be a fan to see what version of whatever they are going to do,” Brolin said. “But how do you bring up a movie that Ben did ten or fifteen years ago…I mean come on. The guy has matured and he’s grown, and look at the work that he is doing now. I’m going to defend him literally until death.”
Ben Affleck was named the new Batman recently by Warner Bros. with the internet reacting in ways never before previously seen. Fans launched online petitions, petitioned the white house and even made death threats. Brolin isn’t the only actor to come out and publicly support Ben Affleck as notable celebrities have done so as well including: Hugh Jackman, Tom Welling, and Kevin Smith.
