This past weekend’s Comic-Con saw Legendary Entertainment announce a new King Kong movie with Skull Island.

Now it’s learned Joe Cornish is being eyed to direct.

According to Deadline, Legendary has put an offer out to Cornish and are waiting to hear back. Joe Cornish co-wrote the Edgar Wright version of the Ant-Man movie and was behind the British alien invasion film, Attack The Block, which featured John Boyega.

It’s unknown if Cornish will accept the offer as it seems he has been turning down high-profile offers, including Star Trek 3.

The same report also mentions that Skull Island will be written by Max Borenstein, who recently wrote an updated script for the new Godzilla movie for Legendary.

Skull Island has a November 4, 2016 release.
