Some fans may have been left scratching their heads as to why Disney didn’t have a Star Wars: Episode VII presence at Comic-Con.

While it could be it’s too far away or that Disney is saving it for their D23 Expo next month, could it be that J.J. Abrams is dropping out of Star Wars: Episode VII?

Well, that’s the rumor that is being put out there with it cited that Abrams was unhappy with Disney’s choice to film in London, which the director went on record stating he was against. It could very well be that Abrams’ vision for Star Wars doesn’t jibe with Disney’s.

BadAssDigest also says they have been hearing murmurings from “insiders” at Comic-Con of the departure of J.J. Abrams, and fans should begin to worry if the director and Star Wars: Episode VII aren’t at the upcoming German Celebration.

Update: Disney has released a statement shooting the rumor down.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date.
