Jeff Robinov Says No Nolan or Bale On Justice League; Announcement Coming Soon

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:6812:]]Well, we can finally put the rumor to rest that Christopher Nolan is producing the Justice League movie with Christian Bale to return as Batman, just as Cosmic Book News told you.

Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, shot down the rumor.

“No, no it’s not,” Robinov replied to EW when asked about whether it was true if Christopher Nolan was producing Justice League with Christian Bale coming back as well.

And as we previously heard, it appears Warner Bros. is waiting for the Man of Steel before making anymore announcements.

“We’ll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we’re going to be making,” Robinov told EW.

Regarding the Man of Steel, Robinov offered what producer Charles Roven previously said.

“It’s setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. In that, it’s definitely a first step,” he said.

EW also asked Robinov if the Man of Steel included references to any other DC heroes, as David Goyer hinted as such.

“I think you’ll see that, going forward, anything can live in this world,” he told EW. “[Nolan’s] Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world they lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world.”

Speaking of Nolan’s Batman, Robinov was asked if The Dark Knight Trilogy is, indeed, standalone, with the president of WB offering an enigmatic response.

“They do. Or they did,” he said.

EW wasn’t sure what the response exactly meant either, but took it to mean possibly that the upcoming new Batman movies might not be standalone i.e. a part of the DC shared movie universe.

EW also states that Christopher Nolan’s reps stated he has no involvement in the Justice League movie as he will be busy with Interstellar.

We’ve been previously told that Warner Bros. wants Christopher Nolan on board the Justice League movie in the same capacity as Man of Steel, which wasn’t that much as he was filming The Dark Knight Rises at the same time, but was more of an “overseer.” So that would fit.
