Ten women have come forward with allegations against Jared Leto in a new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, which aired Wednesday.
Four of the women accuse the actor of criminal sexual conduct they say took place when they were teenagers.
Leto denies everything.
In a statement issued through his reps, the Masters of the Universe star said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

What The BBC Documentary Alleges
According to the BBC, the women describe encounters with Leto between 2002 and 2016, when the actor was in his 30s and 40s.
Nine of the ten are telling their stories publicly for the first time.
One woman alleges Leto sexually assaulted her in a Las Vegas motel bathroom in 2002 when she was 17. Another claims he threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19 after being left alone with him in a hotel.
A third says she had sex with Leto in California when she was 17, under the state’s age of consent, and claims he brushed off the age issue when it came up. A fourth alleges Leto made repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16.
Several of the women say Leto’s lawyer later asked them to sign NDAs.
The documentary also features two men who worked with Leto’s band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, describing crew members being uncomfortable with how the frontman interacted with teenage girls. One says, “I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big.”
The BBC says it corroborated a number of the accounts with friends and family who were told about the encounters at the time, and that it has seen pictures and messages supporting some of the claims.
No criminal charges have ever been filed against Leto, who is now 54.
We Covered The First Wave Of Allegations
This is not new territory. In June 2025, Air Mail published a report in which nine women accused Leto of sexual misconduct, with some alleging they were minors at the time.
CBN covered the allegations, including James Gunn’s old comments about Leto that suddenly read very differently.
That report was set off by LA DJ Allie Teilz, who posted that Leto assaulted her backstage at a show when she was 17. Leto’s rep expressly denied everything at the time and called Teilz’s claim demonstrably false.
Hollywood Already Started Distancing Itself
The industry response has been visible for more than a year, and CBN documented it in real time.
Amazon MGM kept Leto out of the Masters of the Universe marketing push entirely, and Leto was reportedly not thrilled with the movie either.
Disney marketed Tron: Ares without its own star in the wake of the Air Mail report. And James Gunn’s Peacemaker Season 2 made it official that Leto is done as Joker.
Brutal Timing For Amazon
The timing could not be worse for Amazon MGM. Masters of the Universe, with Leto as Skeletor, just arrived on digital July 21 and hit Prime Video streaming on July 22.
That streaming run is Amazon’s shot at salvaging something from a movie that bombed with around $113 million worldwide against a break-even we pegged at $500 million.
One week into the streaming rehab campaign, the man under the Skeletor makeup is the subject of a BBC documentary called Hollywood’s Dark Secret.
Amazon already called the box office disaster “truly special.” Good luck spinning this one.
