Marvel’s Iron Man Game Confirms Leak In Its First Post Ever: ‘Now You Know’

Four days after 97 minutes of a dead Iron Man game surfaced online, footage of the living one followed it out the door.

Roughly two and a half minutes from EA Motive’s Marvel’s Iron Man spread across ResetEra and Reddit on Friday, a soundless, in-progress trailer stamped with an “AUG26 TEST” watermark.

And this time there is no guessing which Iron Man game it belongs to. The official account said so itself.

“Well, that didn’t go as planned,” reads the post from @ironmangame. “But now you know, and we’ve got a lot more to show you. See you when we’re ready.”

That is the first post in the account’s history. It was created in June 2023 and sat silent for more than three years; a leak is what finally got it talking.

Marvel Games VP Bill Rosemann reposted it, so this is the project speaking, not a fan page, and within an hour it was at 33,000 likes and 783,000 views.

The post never uses the word “leak.” It doesn’t have to.

What The Footage Shows

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson reads the AUG26 stamp as material from a recent playtest or internal feedback session, a cut made for people inside EA, not for the public.

The clip opens with Iron Man lifting off and flying through a big city Kotaku pegs as Chicago, with jet-boot traversal the outlet compared to Anthem, EA’s own dead flight game, and the one thing everyone praised about it.

Combat has Tony slamming enemies into the pavement, hurling them, and hovering while firing missiles and lasers.

The lineup reads like a proper Iron Man book.

Tony, Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy are all recognizable without Robert Downey Jr.’s likeness, Madame Masque appears, Crimson Dynamo is spotted, and Iron Monger and Whiplash may be in there too. One stretch has Iron Man fighting a S.H.I.E.L.D. carrier; another tears through Japan.

There’s also a shot of Tony adjusting his armor that looks player-facing, and a grid inventory for moving suit parts around. Think Resident Evil 4‘s attaché case, but for repulsors.

None of it is final. Placeholder assets and clearly unfinished cutscenes run through the whole clip.

But it is the first look anyone outside EA has gotten at a game announced in September 2022 that has gone nearly four years without a trailer, a screenshot, or a release window, through rounds of EA layoffs and the cancellation of Black Panther, which EA used to reaffirm this game was still alive.

The Rockstar Playbook, Run In Hours

Rockstar let Cyberleek’s GTA 6 clips run for a week before it spoke, and what came out was a full apology letter. Marvel and EA needed hours and 24 words.

The sign-off is doing homage, too.

When GTA 6 was hacked in 2022, Rockstar closed its statement by promising to properly introduce the game when it was ready. “See you when we’re ready” is the same exit, four years later. Studios have a house style for this now.

The difference is what comes next.

It’s likely a full public reveal is coming soon, before the end of the year, possibly in October at NYCC or at December’s Game Awards, the obvious stage.

Marvel has run this exact lap before. Insomniac’s Wolverine had its builds dumped in the 2023 hack and ships September 15 anyway.

Leaks didn’t kill that game. Silence is what nearly buried this one. Monday’s Avalanche leak got mistaken for Motive’s cancellation precisely because EA had given fans nothing to know better with.

“A lot more to show you” is now a promise on the record, from an account that finally exists in public. After four years, a stolen trailer is what it took.
