Iron Man 3 (2013): Robert Downey Injured On Set

Sometimes being on the set of an action-packed blockbuster can be a dangerous thing.

Just ask Robert Downey Jr.!

The actor was apparently injured while filming Iron Man 3.

Reportedly it was just a minor injury, possibly a sprained ankle, with Marvel Studios releasing a statement to calm the masses, “Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.”

No word how Robert Downey Jr. injured his ankle, but we’ve already seen set images that show just how dangerous the set can be. In a reported scene involving some sort of accident with Air Force One, we’ve seen actors/stuntmen hanging from wires as well as parachuting on to a beach.
