UPDATE 9/24: Ed Boon has responded to the Injustice 3 rumors.
The first two Injustice 3 fighters may be out: Supergirl and Batwoman.
MP1st spotted the resume of stunt performer Mackensi Emory, which listed motion capture work on Injustice 3 as the stunt double for both characters.
The listing was pulled within hours of the report going up.
It lands a week after a deleted listing paid gamers $250 to playtest an unreleased AAA 2D fighting game in Culver City. Everything points to those sessions being Injustice 3.
The Resume Vanished Within Hours
Per MP1st’s report, the motion capture section of Emory’s resume listed Injustice 3 as her most recent work, with the role given as “Stunt DBL: Batwoman & Supergirl.”
The entry also named the coordinator: Jake Huang, a NetherRealm stunt coordinator and animator who moved onto the project after finishing Mortal Kombat 1.
Emory is a recurring NetherRealm collaborator who did motion capture on Mortal Kombat 1. Her screen credits include The Boys, Thunderbolts, and American Horror Story.
So this isn’t a random resume. It’s someone NetherRealm already uses, listing NetherRealm’s next game.
Motion capture on named characters also means the game is deep into production, which lines up with a build finished enough to put in front of paid testers.
One Returning Hero, One Series First
Supergirl coming back is no surprise. She was the headline new fighter in Injustice 2 and central to its Brainiac story.
Batwoman is the bigger deal. She has never been playable in an Injustice game. Her appearances were limited to the prequel comics.
Count the leaks now.
Two voice actors from the first two games said they were back, then walked it back. A Warner Bros. Games artist put Injustice 3 on an online resume. A playtest listing for an unreleased AAA 2D fighter went up and got deleted. Now a stunt double’s resume with character names, also deleted.
Each leak gets more specific than the last, and each one gets scrubbed.
The obvious windows for a reveal remain New York Comic-Con next month and The Game Awards in December.
The leaks started with proof the game exists. They’ve moved on to who’s in it. All that’s left is NetherRealm saying it out loud.
