Hugh Jackman has no plans to hang up the claws, and his timing couldn’t be better, as the actor’s comments arrive right as the alleged Avengers: Doomsday plot leak makes the rounds, which reportedly features his Wolverine in a big way.
Speaking with PBS, Jackman, 57, made it clear he views Wolverine as a lifetime gig: “I’m doing it till I’m 90.”
Asked whether he had advice for a potential successor, Jackman said any new take would likely be “melding in” with his own version, but said he wouldn’t offer input, noting no one said anything to him when he took the role, which he was thrilled about, as he came to the character fresh without having read the comics.
“I hope someone just comes in and does whatever the f*** they want and makes it their own,” he added.

Wolverine In The Avengers: Doomsday Leak
Warning: light spoilers for the alleged Avengers: Doomsday leak follow.
The comments come as the alleged full Avengers: Doomsday plot description circulates online, which John Campea says is “now out there” and matches what insiders have heard about the film.
According to the leak, Jackman’s Wolverine appears alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool in the film’s opening sequence, which also involves Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man from the Sam Raimi trilogy, continuing the Incursion storyline from Deadpool & Wolverine.
We’ll keep the specifics out of it, but the leak describes a major role for Wolverine in the sequence, one that would make Jackman’s “till I’m 90” comments all the more interesting, as the multiverse conveniently means no version of Wolverine is ever really the last.
It caps a fast run of Doomsday leaks that also included alleged Ghost Rider footage that set fans off days earlier.
As always, Marvel Studios has not commented on the leak, so treat the details as rumor. The Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, hits theaters December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027.
