The Hobbit (2012): New Beautiful Set Images Feature Hobbiton

Here are a few set images from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit.

TheOneRing.net got a chance to vistit the set in Matamata, New Zealand, and in addition to these beautiful pictorials, wrote up a nice article.

Seems the set has become a meca of sorts, with fans allowed to take as many photos as they want – as long as they sign a non-disclosure agreement saying not to publish them.

The farm where the set is located on even offers tours.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters December 14th, 2012 with the sequel, The Hobbit: There And Back, a year later on December 13th, 2013. 

Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf the Grey with Martin Freeman playing Bilbo Baggins.  

Also reprising their roles from “The Lord of the Rings” movies are: Cate Blanchett as Galadriel; Orlando Bloom as Legolas; Ian Holm as the elder Bilbo; Christopher Lee as Saruman; Hugo Weaving as Elrond; Elijah Wood as Frodo; and Andy Serkis as Gollum.
