The first major order of the Helldivers 2 Void era is live. Hours after the Devoid of Liberty update went out Wednesday morning, Super Earth issued Void Piercer, and it puts Rirga Bay at the center of everything.
The order runs just under two days, wrapping up Friday, and pays out 30 Warbond Medals.
Convenient timing with the Castellan’s Creed warbond also dropping today.
Void Piercer Major Order Objectives
There are two objectives, and they split the playerbase across two fronts.
First, the community must complete Operations against the Terminids 100,000 times on Omicron. As of this writing, the counter sits at 1,900, or 1.9%.
Second, Helldivers must defend Rirga Bay against one attack from the Illuminate. That’s the planet I confirmed earlier is open and crawling with the new enemies.
Today’s personal order, for what it’s worth, tasks divers with 75 Mortar Sentry kills.
New enemies are OP, Watch out for Tornados
And regarding those new enemies, the “bosses” are slow and carry “clubs,” but they are pretty OP as it takes more than two recoilless rifle launches to take them down. They also survive 500K bomb detonations.
They’re surrounded by bat-like ghouls who chase and jump at you.
It’s best to carry on with the mission then to take them all head on.
Let’s hope the Warhammer Warbond comes through with the necessary response.
And watch out for the tornadoes. They actually suck you up and spin you around. It’s pretty wild!
The Void Warp Relay Explained
The briefing lays out where all of this is going.
Through their manipulation of spacetime, the Illuminate have conjured the Void, and Super Earth’s engineering corps are finalizing a Void Warp Relay on Rirga Bay to breach it. The tech is designed to insulate fleet hulls against molecular destabilization during FTL transit.
The problem: initial calibration tests let an onslaught of “horrific Illuminate creations” spill out of the gateway, and they’re threatening to halt the Relay’s construction. The briefing art shows the new grotesque mutations charging Helldivers head-on.
The job is to hold Rirga Bay, stop the spread of the mutations, and collect E-711, a new resource designation, to fuel the relay. Per the order, securing the reserves is vital to facilitate upcoming SEAF deployments “into the unknown.”
The Road Into The Void
Read between the lines and the roadmap is obvious. The Relay gets built and fueled, the fleet breaches the anomaly, and the exploratory insertion missions teased in the Ministry of Expansion bulletin open up. Void Piercer is the on-ramp.
The Omicron objective is the catch. Requiring 100,000 Terminid operations on a single planet while Rirga Bay burns means the community has to actually coordinate instead of piling onto the new shiny front. We’ll see how that goes.
