Hayden Christensen has responded to the Darth Vader movie rumors.
Nothing is official. But he wants to make it.
Christensen got the question from E! News at the opening night gala for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, George Lucas’ $1 billion museum in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park, held ahead of its September 22 public opening.
The question follows the viral rumor from last month claiming Christensen is in the final stages of a multi-picture deal with Disney and Lucasfilm, with a standalone Darth Vader movie built around his return, as previously covered.

‘I Would Be Thrilled To Get To Do That’
E! News asked Christensen straight out: “We’re hearing rumors of a solo Vader film. Are you interested? What can you tell us?”
“Oh, I think those are just rumors,” Christensen said.
The interviewer followed up: if it were to come true, would that be something he’d be interested in down the line?
“Of course. Yeah, I would. I would be thrilled to get to do that,” Christensen answered. “But right now, those are just rumors.”
So that’s the answer on both counts. No confirmation of a deal or a movie, and a clear yes on wanting the job.
Christensen attended the gala with his 11-year-old daughter, Briar Rose, and also talked about fans coming around on the prequels.
“It’s been really heartwarming,” he told E! News. “It’s been a journey getting here, but it’s been really nice to see the affection people have for those films now.”
The Rumor He’s Responding To
The claim traces back to an August 19 post on a Star Wars fan page on Facebook. No reporter was named, and no trade has picked it up.
It blew up anyway when Star Wars Theory, the YouTube channel with 3.4 million subscribers, covered it and argued a Hayden Christensen Vader movie “would literally bring everyone.”
There is a real foundation under the noise, though.
In May, insider Daniel Richtman reported Christensen is set for at least two more Star Wars projects as Anakin beyond Ahsoka Season 2, without naming them. That also remains unconfirmed, but it comes from a source with a track record.
Christensen has campaigned for this before, too. Last year he said that if Lucasfilm decided it wanted a Vader spin-off, “I’d be there in a heartbeat. 100%.”
What is confirmed: Christensen returns as Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka Season 2, premiering January 20, 2027 on Disney+.
And the calendar still lines up.
Star Wars hits its 50th anniversary in 2027, Lucasfilm is planning a huge push for it per what I was told at San Diego Comic-Con, and Star Wars Celebration takes place April 1-4 in Los Angeles with Christensen already announced as a guest.
Celebration is where Lucasfilm makes its biggest announcements. If a Hayden Christensen Darth Vader movie ever gets one, he’s already booked for the stage.
