Hasbro Rep Reveals Book Of Boba Fett Disappointment, Says The Acolyte Looked Awesome On Paper (Exclusive)

One of the more interesting conversations I had at San Diego Comic-Con came courtesy of a Hasbro rep who works on the Star Wars line.

Since Hasbro gets early access to development material in order to create the figures, these are people who know what’s coming long before the fans do.

So I asked him: was there anything he was disappointed with?

The Acolyte The Stranger

The Acolyte looked awesome on paper

The Acolyte came up (I brought it up), and the rep told me that before the series was released, on paper it looked awesome.

Thanks to that early access, he even knew the Stranger was the Stranger before the show ever aired.

A fan listening in chimed in that the Stranger figure now goes for around $80 on the aftermarket, which is what happens when Disney cancels a show after one season and at a cost of a reported $180 million.

‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ Chapter 2 Sucks Just Like The First Episode

Disappointed with The Book of Boba Fett

What the rep said he was actually disappointed with was The Book of Boba Fett, explaining it was more on the internal communications side of things.

He didn’t want to get into specifics, but he hinted at something possibly involving the rancor, noting there was a Hasbro HasLab figure for it.

Worth noting is that Hasbro launched its massive HasLab Rancor right around the show’s premiere, and the campaign famously failed to reach its funding goal. Make of that what you will.

The conversation wasn’t all disappointment, as the rep had plenty of good things to say about Star Wars: Starfighter and teased Friday’s big Hasbro panel reveal, which is now live right here.
