Guardians of the Galaxy Up For A Grammy Award

Today saw the Grammy Award nominations announced with the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 soundtrack up for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

The soundtrack is made up of James Gunn’s favorite choice of music from the 1970s, which was used throughout the film.

In addition to being released digitally, on CD and on vinyl, a limited edition cassette version was recently made available.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 soundtrack topped iTunes and the Billboard Top 200 when it was first released as well.

Also nominated in the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category is American Hustle, Frozen, Get On Up: The James Brown Story and The Wolf Of Wall Street.

The 57th annual Grammy Awards airs February 8, 2015 on CBS.
