UPDATE 9/1: The “not ready at all” claim did not survive the Extended Look, and neither did the campaign, as Cyberleek reportedly cashed out roughly $270,000 hours before Rockstar’s Netflix reveal while sales estimates climbed to $4.5 billion by launch week.
Rockstar put “nearly there!” in writing Wednesday morning. By the afternoon, the leaker was calling that a lie.
The newest Cyberleek clip carries a message aimed squarely at Rockstar’s statement: the leaked build is “actually recent,” the game is “not ready at all,” and the work required to reach gold is too much for the time left before November 19.
The claim arrived stamped on the most serious leak yet: a four-minute clip of Lucia’s prologue, the first story content of the entire run. More on that below, without spoilers.
So the night before the Extended Look, this is where things sit. The company says the game is nearly done. The person holding a copy of it says it isn’t close.
Both of those can’t be true.
“Not Ready At All” Meets “Nearly There”
The Cyberleek campaign began with a manifesto demanding an end to digital pre-orders before escalating to full gameplay and now story content.
The reason this claim lands is that it presses on a bruise every GTA 6 fan already has.
This game has been delayed more than once. Millions of pre-orders are already paid for at $80 and $100. And Rockstar’s own statement Wednesday chose “nearly there” over “done,” on a title less than three months from launch.
Into that gap, Cyberleek drops “not ready at all.”
The recency claim isn’t coming out of nowhere, either. Fans had already spotted signs the footage is newer than first assumed, including a 2025 song playing on the in-game radio.
If the build really is recent, as the leaker now insists, then the rough edges viewers have spotted in the clips are not ancient history from a 2024 slice. They’re the state of the game today, and the delay question stops being paranoia and starts being arithmetic.
For its part, Rockstar reaffirmed November 19 in Wednesday’s statement and gave no hint of movement. The studio also spent the same day rolling out its first-ever GTA 6 developer interviews, a marketing beat that does not suggest a company bracing for a delay.
The Lucia Prologue Is Out, And The Story Is No Longer Safe
For nine days, Lucia was the dog that didn’t bark.
Every clip starred Jason. Basketball, gas stations, the biplane, the strip club. Lucia’s total absence fed the one comforting theory of this whole mess: that the leaker’s build couldn’t reach story content, and that the campaign, and its ending, were locked away somewhere Cyberleek couldn’t go.
That theory died Wednesday. The four-minute prologue clip is story, full stop, and this article won’t describe a frame of it. If you’ve made it this far unspoiled, don’t go looking now.
The leak wasn’t an impulse, either. Cyberleek threatened the Lucia prologue earlier this week, in the same post that demanded fans show up at Rockstar and Take-Two offices dressed as leeks and holding game discs.
Which recasts Rockstar’s statement. Its odd warning that the experience “may now be impacted by some spoilers” landed hours before the prologue did, and now reads like a company that knew exactly what was coming and was bracing its audience ahead of impact.
Nobody outside the leak operation knows how much more story is sitting on that drive. After Wednesday, the ending has to be assumed in play.
Which leaves tomorrow. The Extended Look premieres on Netflix Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, free on Rockstar’s YouTube at 9 p.m. ET. After a week like this, everyone will be watching it for the same thing: does the game look done?
