UPDATE: The leaks escalated with the most serious leak yet — a four-minute clip of Lucia’s prologue, the first story content of the run, paired with the leaker’s claim that the game is “not ready at all.” Rockstar has since addressed the leaks directly, warning that spoilers may impact the intended experience while confirming the game is “nearly there” ahead of November 19. The studio has also confirmed much of the list below officially, with its first-ever GTA 6 interviews detailing the Red Dead Redemption 2 body systems and a world that reacts to what you do. The leaks have continued, with a federal court granting Take-Two subpoenas targeting Microsoft and Discord to unmask the leaker. They also carried a real financial cost, with Take-Two reportedly shedding roughly $2.83 billion in market cap in under two days as the hacker’s footage proved they were playing the game.
The GTA 6 leaked footage is getting scrubbed off the internet as fast as Take-Two’s lawyers can file, but the details are already out.
Two short clips attributed to the group behind Tuesday’s leak have been picked apart frame by frame across every major gaming outlet, and the picture they paint is consistent: Grand Theft Auto VI is being built on the simulation chassis Rockstar perfected in Red Dead Redemption 2, not the one from GTA 5.
One caveat before anything else, and it’s a big one: none of this is confirmed by Rockstar, and the build’s age is unsettled. Early reports called the footage an older development build, but the in-game radio includes a 2025 Tate McRae track, pointing to something more recent than first believed.
Systems visible here may be unfinished, placeholder, or cut entirely by November. Treat every item below as a look at direction, not a feature list.

A Six-Star Wanted Level, And Cops Who Know Your Face
The headline mechanic is the wanted system, and it’s been rebuilt.
There’s a sixth star now, one beyond the five-star ceiling GTA has used for years. For scale, beating a delivery driver to death with a pipe wrench in the leaked clip reportedly draws a two-star response.
More interesting is what sits next to the stars.
When the player is wanted, three separate identification icons appear on the HUD, which observers read as the police tracking your face, your clothing, and your vehicle as distinct pieces of evidence.
The implication is that changing any of them degrades what the cops actually know about you: ditch the car, change the shirt, and the heat drops. That’s a fundamentally different escape loop than driving in circles until a timer runs out.
Cops are also shown running roadside speed traps and general traffic enforcement, meaning the police exist in the world before you give them a reason to.

Red Dead’s Honor System Came To Vice City
The detail doing the most numbers online is a small devil icon with a minus symbol.
It appears during the assault clip, and the timing is the part worth sitting with: reports say it doesn’t show up when the fight starts. It shows up once the victim is already down and the beating continues.
If that reading holds, GTA 6 isn’t judging you for violence. It’s judging you for violence against someone who can’t fight back — which is almost exactly how RDR2 handled honor, where killing an enemy in a gunfight cost you nothing but shooting a fleeing man in the back did.
That’s a genuinely unusual moral framework for a series whose entire brand is consequence-free chaos.

Fuel, Stamina, And Storage In The Trunk
The simulation layer runs deeper than the karma meter.
Vehicles reportedly display a fuel gauge, meaning you’ll be refueling, and fans have reported maintenance requirements on top of that. A gas mechanic has been one of the most popular GTA 5 mods for a decade; Rockstar appears to have simply absorbed it.
Melee has a cost too. Each wrench swing in the clip drains an energy bar, so brawling now runs on stamina rather than infinite button-mashing.
Approaching the car brings up “loadout” and “storage” prompts, suggesting you can swap weapons at the vehicle and stash items in the trunk. Crashing reportedly costs health. NPC drivers actively swerve to avoid collisions, and can get out and confront you afterward.

Two Wallets, And A Focus Meter
Money appears to be tracked in two places: cash on your person and a separate balance held at your home or safehouse. That’s a robbery-and-stash loop rather than a single floating number.
Side activities appear to feed character attributes. The clearest example is Jason shooting hoops in his driveway, where a successful session awards “+2 to Focus” using an icon several outlets compared to RDR2‘s Dead Eye. The basketball itself uses a simple timing mini-game — press the button when the rings overlap.
Object physics look noticeably heavier as well, with the basketball, plants, and loose objects moving and settling more realistically than anything in GTA 5.

How Much Of This Survives To November?
Here’s the honest sourcing picture.
Rockstar has not confirmed a single item on this list and almost certainly never will. The footage is unverified. The build’s age is unconfirmed, with that 2025 radio track suggesting it is newer than early reports assumed.
But the strongest signal that the clips are real isn’t the analysis — it’s the response. Take-Two started firing DMCA takedowns within hours. Nobody spends legal hours scrubbing fake footage off the internet.
The safest read: these systems existed in the build that leaked. Whether all of them exist in the game that ships is a different question, and one Rockstar is about to answer itself.
Nine Days Until Rockstar Answers This
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, hitting Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the GTA VI website free six hours later.
That presentation now has a job nobody at Rockstar planned for: confirming or burying a feature list the internet already has.
GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at $80 and $100, with no disc.
Related: The group behind the leak isn’t asking Rockstar for money. It’s demanding an end to digital pre-orders — and pushing a memecoin while it does it.
