Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance (2012): Official Website Launches

Well, the animated opening for the official website of Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance says everything for me, and most likely what everyone is going to want to do after watching it.

Anyway, Columbia Pictures has launched thespiritofvengeance.com, which includes story info and downloadable content. 

And among the content are animated .gif image files.

Basically, what you do is find a bunch of images and using your favorite image editor, layer them one on top of the other – then save it as an “animated” gif.  You can set the frame rate however long you want for each layer, which gives it that “animated” effect.

For instance, this one is made up of 26 layers/images to create the effect:

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance sees Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the kid’s birthday.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance rides into theaters February 17th, 2012 starring Nicolas Cage, Ciaran Hinds, Violante Placido, Idris Elba and Johnny Whitworth.
