With the recent announcement that Disney is acquiring Lucasfilm and Star Wars from George Lucas for $4.05 billion, just what is Lucas going to do with all that money? As Lucas is the sole owner of Lucasfilm, all the money looks to be going to him.

According to a spokesperson for Lucasfilm, George Lucas will be donating a majority of the money to charity.

“George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors,” THR reports.

Lucas has donated to various foundations as well as runs his own. He hasn’t named any specifics as of yet, but did release the following statement.

“For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company. As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.”

Lucas’s previous donations include donating to the Film Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and he has made donations through his George Lucas Educational Foundation as well.

The Lucasflim sale to Disney includes a new Star Wars movie for 2015 with Episode 7. Mark Hamill has previously commented about that as well as a George Lucas biographer.
